Hi
i can't understand what can cause this excessive disk writing
i have sierra and few applications , firefox , vlc , audacity ,photoshop and bridge & onyx, nothing else , no other programs
no items at the login

at cold boot , i turn on my mac , e leave 10 minutes and with activity monitor i can see always disk writing around 600 ~ 900 mb , almost 1GB , and at every boot(if i restart my imac)

i leave my imac without running any program , and 600 ~ 900 mb is really too much
just gave a look to w7 and w10 they write 60 ~ 120mb

can 't understand it
i'm thinking to send to fix it
it mouted a ssd samsung 500GB

may I ask 2 question ?

1) may i know after a normal boot and leaving the imac idle for 10 minutes or 30 minutes the writing ammount?

2) is there a way to find out what cause it?

thanks

Think it's simply Spotlight doing the indexing of your ssd content...
That's normal.

In Terminal, try:
$ sudo rm -rf /System/Library/Caches/com.apple.coresymbolicationd
Then, restart your Mac. Everything should be fine.

Do not touch in any way to "launchd" (PID# 1) !!!

Yes.
Don't be shy to use Terminal :)
This operation isn't harmful for your Mac...

PS: If you aren't familiar with Terminal, remember to not include the '$' in the command line!
