Ventilator running full speed

G5 iMac ... the flat one
OSX 10.4.11
2 GB ram

lost my pw (this problem now is solved) and tried many things to recover it ...
like:
/sbin/mount -uw /
/sbin/SystemStarter

and some other things - which I can not remember any more.
after one of those comand lines the ventilator started running full speed and I cannot change it back to normal via system settings.

can someone help please.

Try shutting down and unplugging your Mac for five minutes or so, plugging it back in and turning it on.
