Updating from high sierra

I have a late 2015 imac and a year or so ago I tried to upgrade to mojave and had to restore from backups,lost everything , now i can't upgrade photoshop cc 2021. what should i do , is big sur or catalina more stable

Hello and welcome.

Personally, I think Catalina is more stable than Big Sur, and doesn't require the higher hardware specs that Big Sur does. It may be a better fit for your 2015 iMac.
