Update Excel

Hello Collective Wisdom,

I am happily using Excel 2008 on an iMac running Mojave (OS 10.14.6).

My partner uses a newer version of Excel, and we need to share files back and forth (e.g. by email).

When she sends me an .xlsx file I can open it, but some of the formatting gets screwed up.

Bottom line, I need to update to the most recent version of Excel which Mojave can handle.

My question: what version is that, and how do I go about getting it?

Hi there, and welcome to the forums..

There are 2 options...

1. You can purchase a copy of Office 2016 for Mac. It is no longer supported, but Amazon still sells it (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0148BYIPY).

2. You can ask your partner to save the files in .XLS format instead of .xlxs
