Hi there, I have a late 2013 retina display macbook pro and am trying to connect a display to my laptop to use as a second screen. It's an oldish display (Samsung SyncMaster 943N) and I'm using a VGA-VGA cable with a VGA-HDMI converter to connect it, but my mac isn't detecting it.
I've tried unplugging and replugging stuff in, the age old trick of turning things on and off again until they work, and I've tried going: system preferences> displays> press option key > click detect displays, all to no avail. Does anyone have any advice please?
