I have a MACbook Air 2019 and just upgraded to BigSur. I used the touchID button to swich on before, but it did not work after the upgrade. So I deleted the fingerprint with the idea to create a new one. However, there is no response when I try the procedure outlined in HELP. Is there no way to install a my fingerprint again?

This is a semi-known issue: macOS Big Sur: Touch ID has stopped working on MacBooks

I am not sure if it was addressed in the recently released macOS 11.1 Big Sur update, but it will be in a future update if it wasn't.
