Terminal wont change directory

Im a noob at terminal, but i do no that to change the directory you use cd right?
Well when i do something such as:

'Sam$ cd /Users/Sam/Desktop/Server'
it says
'-bash: /Users/Sam/Desktop/Server: is a directory'
Can anyone think why?

And it wont change the directory
