Hi guys.
needing help.
I recently update to Mojave(yes I know, clicked remind me tomorrow for a loooong time).
anyway, my Mac has been coming up with ‘running out of storage’ all day. When I go into the storage sections of the ‘about this Mac’ this is what I see.

992GB in SYSTEM!!!?
I have no idea why, or how to even fix this.
The Mac is for my parents paperwork and doesn’t get used for anything else.
Thabks

Hello and welcome,

There could be several reasons this is happening, a couple of the common ones are:
-Do you use any Adobe applications like Photoshop, Premiere, etc?
-It could be a runaway log file

You could try downloading, installing, and running OmniDiskSweeper. It will look at the entire drive and tell you what folder(s) are taking up all of that disk space. You could then upload a screenshot of the OmniDiskSweeper windows so we can see what the offending folder(s) are.

DO NOT simply delete items without verifying what they are, as your Mac could become unstable or unusable.

Let us know what you find,

C
