System preferences

This may not be the correct Forum, but here goes: Clicking 'System Preferences' I get - ""Go to one of your other device signed in to iCloud to approve this MacBook Air". So I go to my iPad but then what? Advice on the next steps will be much appreciated.

Hello,

Sounds like you have Apple Two-factor authentication enabled for your Apple ID. When enabled, certain items that you sync require you to validate with a trusted device to allow access. The trusted device should give you a verification code to enter, usually six digits.
