Why is my iMac honking at me? Doesn't it like OS 10.13.5?

-Can you describe the sound further?
-Does it make the sound when using certain applications?

It really sounds like a honking goose.
Sound is intermittent - when I'm using the keyboard on any app. ???

Could it be one of the  > System Preferences... > Sound > Sound Effects > alert sounds? If so, you could have a bad key on your keyboard, which may cause the alert to play when it is pressed.

Yes, it was the basso sound. I pressed all the keys and some did honk - then didn't honk and others honked. My keyboard is fully charged. Do need another one?

Ahhh...glad you found the source.

You don't need a new keyboard necessarily. Some keys don't work in some apps.

-Are the ones that honk consistent in all apps?
-Which keys give the alert sound?

I tried a different keyboard with the same results. Because my mouse was also acting strangely, I used the disk utility from the safe boot. It partially helped, so I downloaded ClamXAV and it seemed to clear up the situation. Perhaps, I had a virus. Thanks again. (*_*)
