Anyone know how to "Force" eject an unreadable CD from an IMAC drive? keyboard, power down and software eject commands don't work.

Unlike PC can not find a manual trip fro the drive.

I realise that you have stated that some of these methods have already failed you, but I wanted to keep the list intact for all ....

1. Keyboard eject key

2. Hold down left button on mouse at reboot until eject

3. Eject from within iTunes

4. Command + E

5. In Finder, File - Eject

6. In Disk Utility, click on device and eject

7. Click on hard drive icon and select DVD device and eject

8. Hold down C key during reboot

9. Turn off computer and unplug all firewire and usb devices except keyboard and mouse and try again - note that the mouse has to be plugged into the computer directly not into the keyboard

10. During startup, press and hold the Command-Option-O-F key combination to enter Open Firmware, type "eject cd" in lower case letters, then hit return.

11. Connect by firewire in target disk mode and eject from the other computer

12. Reboot pram, hold down option and command, turn on power and quickly hold down r and p also while the start up chime cycles three times then release, that will reset the defaults and may allow the DVD to mount and eject

13. If you have a clicker, select menu and then DVD and select eject

14. Once again, disconnect all externals directly and with hubs exept the keyboard and mouse which are plugged directly into the computer USB ports, shut down and power up and try again.

15. Open a Finder Window and Control/Right-Click in the Toolbar area and select "Customise Toolbar". Drag the Eject icon to the Toolbar and try to eject the disc.

16. Turn off computer and leave it overnight to try the next day ...
