Starting to play music in my pocket

The last couple of weeks my iPhone has started playing music several times with my phone in my pocket. That has never happened before with any of my iPhones. It is a 12 Pro with iOS 16.0. When this has happened, I hurriedly swips my apps closed.

Is there a change in the iOS that is causing this? What can I do to stop it?
