spotlight no info

Mac Pro 2.66GHz OSX 10.4.8
Can someone please help me, after i have run a seach in spotlight and the results are in the main window, if i click on the info (small circl with i in it) all it does is open the file. it does not expand and show additional info?

very strange ! Has this just recently started happening on your Mac ?

Have you installed any updates recently ?

Have you run "Repair Permissions" in Disk Utility ?
