I've been having an issue lately where my Mac won't find any applications I search with spotlight, I've tried reindexing, adding things from finder, everything from top to bottom. Even simple stuff like unchecking and checking the "applications" inside System Presences > Spotlight > "Search Results". Plus, trying to rebuild the index of spotlight in numerous ways.

Terminal wasn't helping either even using "mdutils" didn't help. What else can I do?

Maybe try the free application EasyFind, available from here:

http://www.devontechnologies.com/download/products.html

It's listed under "Freeware", and you don't have to get it from the App Store. Just click the Download button.

I have been using it for a number of years, and it works well. Try it, and see if it works.
