Until several months ago my Mac was in single user mode: I was the only user and when I turned it on, I was automatically logged-in without entering uname or password. Then I created an account for my granddaughter. Now I've removed her account, but cannot recover the single user mode behavior. How can I revert to single user mode?

Mac OS X 10.4.1
Model Identifier: iMac4,1
Processor Name: Intel Core Duo
Processor Speed: 2 GHz
Number Of Processors: 1
Total Number Of Cores: 2
L2 Cache (per processor): 2 MB
Memory: 1 GB
Bus Speed: 667 MHz
Boot ROM Version: IM41.0055.B08
SMC Version: 1.1f5

Thanks, Claude

How to feel stupid in one easy lesson.

Apple menu>System Preferences>Accounts>Login Options

Easy as pie!
