Save As Option: "Preview Document" or "All Files" ?

Hello,

The screen that comes up when doing a Save As has as one of the
options under FORMAT, the two choices of "Preview Document," or "All Files"

What are the differences ?

Which would one use, when ? Why ?

What application are you talking about? When I use the Writer Module of LibreOffice, via the File menu, when I do a Save As..., I can choose where to save it, the name of the saved document, and the file type.
