My daughter has switched her ibook it don't move from the apple startup it just looks llike it is frozen no loading symbol can anyone tell me what to do about it Thanks Louise

Hi there,

try restarting holding down the command + s key

Then if it boots let us know...

Hi Ric tried that dosn'T work when you first switch on it sounds like it's loading then you get a little question mark in a box then the white screen and the apple log then nothing, could it be the hard drive needs reqplacing i don't know anything about computers just guessing. thanks Louise

it could be...

Have you got the original System disk?

If you have pop the disk in and restart holding down the 'c' key this should then boot the mac from the cd/dvd drive.

Once it boots, don't reload the system, but go to the menu bar and run disk utilities.

Does Disk utility 'see' the Hard drive?
