Hi there, I was using my boyfriends computer and a ransomware popup showed up. I read online how to get rid of it for safari, but nothing specifically for chrome. Any ideas? I have to wait until he gets back to unlock the computer (I force shut it down) but I would like to know how to fix it as soon as I'm able.

Hi and welcome,
I have never used chrome but try the following
1) Click on the "Tools" drop-down menu at the top right corner of the browser window under the close button. It looks like a wrench.
2) Click "Options."
3) Select the "Under the Hood" tab.
4) Click on the "Content Settings" button under Privacy.
5) Select the "Pop-ups" tab.
6) If it is not already selected, select "Do not allow any site to show up (recommended)" to block pop-ups or "Allow all sites to show up" to disable the blocker.
