Quick time 7.4 doesn't working on safari

I have mac book pro 10.4.11 and I'm using tiger.
I have just reinstall the the system and from some reason my 7.4 version of quick time which working fine on the system doesn't work on the internet.When I open any video on the web I'm getting the quick time logo with a question mark.
Do I need to install the system again?
What should I do?:confused: :confused:
