Purgeable space?

I have many GB (Monterey, silicon) of "purgeable space", and it would be nice to get rid of it. Lots of information online about how to do it and NONE OF IT WORKS. Restart, Optimize Storage, Spotlight rebuild, Onyx, etc. etc. Time Machine is not enabled. You'd like to believe there is a simple way of telling the system to chuck it.

• How much purgeable space is it reporting?
