SOLVED Spacebar Not Acting As Usual

I used to be able to use the spacebar on my macbook to act as an 'enter' key.
Now, it seems, this no longer works; not sure why.
Anyone have this issue?

Thanks - figured it out.
Had to check 'all controls' under 'keyboard shortcuts' - though don't remember having to do this previously.
