Hello everyone,

I have a used iMac 5,1 running OS X 10.5.8 2.16 GHz core 2 duo.

I had a pc laptop and transfered all my info from the laptop onto a Maxtor One Touch II 300GB external HD. I no longer have the pc and got all necessary info off it before it died. The Maxtor is not seen in Mac Finder, The USB port sees the Maxtor & the Maxtor software (Retrospect 5.1) shows it has 279 GB. At least the Maxtor software reads the Ext HD.

1) Can I partition the Mac HD with Windows XP (have an OEM disk) and will the Maxtor be read and seen in Finder?

2) Can I accomplish the same thing with an Windows emulator?

3) Is there a "Cloud" system that if I could upload the info from the Maxtor to Cloud will there be a reformatting of data when it comes back to me on Mac??

I can use a friends pc if I need to make DVD copy disk, upload, etc.

I'm doing all of this to get at resumes, other docs.

thanks for the help!
