Over heating mac HELP....

my 2.4 ghz macbook 4,1 reach heats of 100°C and above monitored on smcFanControl.
fan is at maximum rpm, (6200 rpm).

Sounds like you have a process running out of control.

Check Activity Monitor for the App thats burning up the CPU/GPU.

it uses a fair bit in flash content and web content on browsers. here is a screen shot.

Flash Player looks like the culprit, this is why Apple doesn't ship it on there new Laptops. Use it with caution.

minecraft also drives it in to the 100's using an were from 50% to 65% of the processor.

:( no more youtube i guess.

Just keep an eye on it. It has internal sensors and will shutdown if you exceed the temp.

The Fans should kick in and they make a lot of noise, but that is to be expected, with the temp these GPU generate. My iMac sounds like a Jet when it gets wound up, playing Diablo 3.

it also idles around 30°C to 50°C is that normal
