Older Imac - yellowed screen

I was wondering what causes the screen to yellow on older Imacs? Is this Caused by dust? Are there ways to fix this?

Hello,

Sorry for the delayed response.

Yellowing of LCD panels is normal over time due to the aging of the LCD panel. I have a 2009 iMac that has noticeable yellowing of the screen, especially when displaying white. The only way to fix it is to replace the LCD panel.
