Old mac performa floppy is stuck

My 1994 era Performa worked well until 2007 when we upgraded to a new computer. I had a file on the old mac that I want to save digitally, so I put a 3 1/2" floppy into the drive. The computer can't initialize it and won't eject it. Can't do a thing with the mac with the floppy in there. Please HELP!!

• Which exact model Performa?
• Is there a small pinhole next to the diskette slot?
• Have you tried restarting/powering on while holding down the mouse button?

Thanks for responding. Its a Model Performa 470. Hoping I can find a diskette that i can format to retrieve the file. I'll keep trying to remove the disk as soon as I return home.
