Numbers document not opening

Grr I spent 3 hours typing in names phone number into the Numbers app only when I go back to add to it the document will not open and says it is invalid and that a file is missing?
Any ideas? Thanks Lynda Slater

A few questions for you to hep us troubleshoot:

-Which version of OS X/macOS?
-Which version of Numbers?
-What is the exact error message?
-Where did you save the original file to?
-Have you tried another file?

C
