I hooked up my MacBook Pro (Leopard, OS X - bought last month) to my TV using the S-Video hookup, to view movies. The video works fine, but I'm not getting any sound from my TV. What do I need to do!?

hey! im doing some thing similar on my macbook (not lucky enough for a pro :D) im using
WinTV-HVR900
a Hauppauge product
heres what it looks like

you can either plug in the Ariel it comes with or plug it straight into your own satellite
tho being a laptop its for on the go, hence the ariel :D
the driver (applcation) is EyeTV

heres a link
http://www.digmo.co.uk/software/eyetv-30/

its got Freeview built in and Records, pauses rewind etc so a free version of SkyTV on your laptop

well ok i think ive ranted on a bit too long about what i use

simple answer to your question
test it on some thing else
see if it works on the other machine or if its the same....
and if its the same... then ive prob just wasted couple mins of your life.. im sorry

but i hope you like the links :D

Since the S-Video doesn't transfer audio, you'll need to hook up the computer's headphone/speaker jack to the TV's audio-in plug.

What mattgoan is talking about seems to be the opposite of what I'm thinking you want - watching TV on your mac, not watching your mac on the TV.
