Nano headphone output problem

Hey,

Audio only sending on one side.
There's nothing stoopid like a pan control I've missed, is there?
Will the self diagnostic mode indicate the problem?

I have lost the receipt but the machine should still be under warranty, can I have it serviced by Apple through the serial number?
