I have a new Macbook pro - Sequoia 15.2
My mouse just disconnects and I have to keep restarting the Macbook.
The pad, the mouse, both bluetooth or wired do not respond.
I don't know what is going on?

Sounds like the MacBook is quite new and should be under AppleCare. I suggest getting an appointment at your nearest Apple Store or AASP for repair. Trying to do too much troubleshooting on your own might compromise the warranty. This is coming from a previous AppleCare Service Provider. Good luck.

I agree 100% with Tony. Take it straight back. Assuming you have paired the various devices correctly his should not happen with a brand new device.

Yes it is new.
However I think I have solved the problem.
I went through various settings, after noticing the cursor was leaving the screen.
It was set to move to an adjacent computer.
I cancelled this and, thouch wood, it has been fine for a few days now.

There is a function by which you can use a mouse on more than one device (if they are both in range and on). It's called Universal Control.

  1. Turn on Universal Control:
    • On your Mac, go to System Settings > Displays > Advanced (if using macOS Ventura or later) or System Preferences > Displays.
    • Turn on “Allow your pointer and keyboard to move between any nearby Mac or iPad.”
I once had this problem when I had paired my mouse with my iPad temporarily while my MBP was in for repair. I did not realise until one day when both were on and on my desk. I just unpaired the mouse from my iPad and the problem was fixed.
