Merge two files on preview together

I have two files that open up in preview. I need these two files to be printed on the same page 2 sided. Ive tried everything I can think of but nothing is working! The only way i can get them on the same page is to print them out separately, then scan in together, then print again. Such a waste of paper! Anyone out there that can help?

Are these PDFs? If so, I have some suggestions.

Do you have a printer capable of Duplex printing? I would just create a document with one picture on each page then print using Duplex.

Yes, I do but I thought you wanted to create a file that included both images.
