Hi Everybody

I've only ever used a Mac and had a few over the last 18 years or so, but I only use them as work tools and have never been able to understand the tech side of it all. I also have an ipad and iphone which share everything via the net, but my MacBook Pro is not on the same operating system, therefore does not share as it would if run on the Maverick operating system

The laptop i'm using is a MacBook Pro, running Mac OS X, Version 10.6.8

I need to know if i can install the latest Maverick operating system, which would allow my laptop to automatically sink with my ipad and iphone via the cloud, can i download it free or buy it?

Would my VMware Fusion Version 5.0.4 (1435862) then work without any problems.

Thanks in advance from anybody that can help.

Hello and welcome.

We need a little more info about your MacBook Pro to give you the correct answer:

-Apple > About This Mac > More Info > Model Identifier:
-Amount of RAM
-Amount of free HD space

Mavericks is a free upgrade, available via the Apple App Store.

Regarding VMware Fusion: Version 5.0.4 is reported to work fine under Mavericks, but VMware Fusion 6 is the latest and is officially supported.
