Hello and welcome.
Sounds like you bought the wrong AirPort card. Does it say AirPort Extreme on the card? If so, that is a newer version that is not compatible with your particular Power Mac G4. The last few models of G4 went back and forth between the original AirPort card and the AirPort Extreme card. The models with FireWire 800 accepted the Extreme, while the others the standard.
Does your PM G4 have a FireWire 800 port?

Hi,
As Cory said, if your PowerMac does not have Firewire800, you will need the Original Apple Airport Card 802.11b Apple Part # M7600LL/A.
