Dell ultra sharp monitor won't work with 2007 tower

Do I need a new graphics card to get my new Dell U2715H monitor to work on my 2.66 ghz dual core Xeon tower? Or is it impossible to get this to work. The hdmi to dvi cable that I bought to hook the two up won't make this work.
