I stupidly deleted many files. Apparently, some of the files were related to "MAIL".
Now, I can't use MAIL. I spent $19. talking to Apple and the guy had me re-install OS 10.8.2

That did not help. I get a dialog box with a message to go to my server (which I do not know who or where) and have the server find the file. Can anyone help me?

Mail.app lives in the Applications folder ... in Finder or your Desktop press Shift Command A to open a new Finder window showing all your Applications. Scroll down to find Mail.app ... is it there?

What sort of Mail account is it POP, IMAP, iCloud???

Sounds like you have deleted the local version and now the database is trying to download it again, but it may well be gone from there too.

I'd start by rebuilding your Mailbox, Mailbox > Rebuild then the gone mail wont be pretending to in your mailbox at all.
