I have a client who just purchased a new mac book pro and is using the new mail client Mail 2.1. He has an older Mac laptop using an older version of Mail and it is able to connect to our email server using pop3 without issue, but the new one fails to even connect to the server.
I have had the client go over all of the settings, and he states that he has duplicated all of the settings correcvtly, yet still no go.
I admit I have very little experience with the Mac.
He has been advised by his Mac sources that it sounds as if it is a compatability issue with our server set up, but I can find nothing about pop issues with the existing set up.

Are there any known issues with Mail 2.1 pop and Exchange?

Thanks for your time, it is much appreciated!!!

Hi there and welcome !

Have you had a look at the Exchange logs ? What do they say ?

They should tell you what is happening when your client tries to connect.

Turned on the smtp logging on the exchange server and contacted the client to see if he could begin trying to connect in order to generate a logfile, and voila... heheh... it began to work.

So, your suggestion worked :)

Thanks very much!
