MacbookPro slow and freezing after upgrade to Sierra

For "normal", everyday functions, Office 2016 (or Office 365) works fine. Also, getting rid of the Windows partition completely will automatically improve performance. It seems the original individual no longer needs to use Windows, so why keep it around?

Also, a clean, "virgin" installation of OS 10.12.2 is the "purest" path to take. One then does not need to be concerned with processes in place, as that stuff will first get erased before the OS installation.
