Hi there, first post on these forums and hoping somebody can help me!

I have a MacBook Pro 2017 and am trying to connect it to my Samsung UE55MU6220 55" 4K TV, but am having some issues. I'm using an official Apple USB-C to HDMI adapter and an HDMI cable, but when I connect, nothing displays on the TV (TV says 'no source', but does recognise that something is plugged in).

The Mac finds itself in a state of continuously being connected and disconnecting (which makes it impossible to do anything with it once the cable is plugged in) but does show the display as being there intermittently if I leave the 'Displays' menu open.

I have tried plugging the USB-C adapter into all 4 ports, tried the HDMI in all 3 ports on the TV, tried a couple of different cables, tried turning the TV off and on again, I have no idea what else to try!

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks.
