Macbook pro 15" early 2008

I uploaded EL CAPITAN on my macbook pro early 2008 model and I have Microsoft office for mac 2008 and am not able to install this on my laptop. it just keeps saying install failed.
Can anyone help me please and let me know what I have to do to install this. Thanks

I have not used Office 2008 in a number of years, having moved to Office 2011, and recently to Office 2016. But, do you have the latest version of Office 2008, V12.3.6? If not, you can download it form here:

Office 2008, V12.3.6, is compatible with every Mac OS since Snow Leopard, OS 10.6.8.
