Macbook connection after reinstall of mohave OS

after restoring macbook pro mohave to factory settings am unable to connect to network, error msg is " this wi fi requires a WPA2 password " this has always been an automatic connection before. I've never had a WPA2 password for this and my windows 10 connects fine to same router????

Hello and welcome.

Sounds like the Wi-Fi network is secured and has a password then, or it wouldn't prompt you. Before you reinstalled macOS on the Mac Mac, you must have saved the password in your Keychain, as it will auto-join. The Windows PC probably has the password saved as well.

You can tell if the Wi-Fi network is unsecured (no password) or secured (password), by the little lock icon next to it's name in the drop-down list for Wi-Fi in the menu bar.
