Mac OS X 10.3.9 - Screen contrast gone too bright!

Please help - computer working fine apart from strange contrast setting on my i mac G5. When its starts up is appears OK and at the last minute the colours go brighter on the screen. Pictures and icons etc almost looked bleached out! Its just niggling me!

A couple of days ago I installed new software for a digital camera and its been doing it ever since. The software for the camera - ACDSee started up in Classic mode. I’ve tried removing all software linked to this - but still the same.

Now even re-installed the system disks!!!

Hi

It's not some bizarre Universal setting, is it? Go to System Preferences, Universal Access.

Under Displays, there's a contrast enhancement setting. Just check that hasn't changed - normal contrast is when this slider is set to the minimum.
