Low on memory

I recently started getting the Message "Your computer is low on memory. to free up some memory please close a few applications" Closing all applications except Safari makes no difference. What do I need to do?

How much RAM is installed ?
Which version of OS X/macOS ?
What software are you using ?

Have you used 'Activity Monitor' to see what processes are running?

Here is a snapshot of my Activity Monitor, this is the first time I have come across it!

There appears to be several applications taking a lot of time:

Suggestd 11.22.87
Safari 34:15.25
Finder 9:49.26
Creative Cloud. 8:03.41
Bird 22:10.65
Adobe CEF Helper (Renderer). 11.02.93
Adobe CEF Helper (GPU). 14:45.68
1010764094986606144. 35:07.26

I am unable to comment on any of them.
