Locked out?? help!

Hello everyone, i just bought a macbook on ebay which i thought was new. To my great joy when i turned the mac on for the first time the login screen popped up and it is locked. tried to contact the seller but there has been no reply for the past three weeks. anything i can do to get this laptop going?

Do you have the MacBook disks? Have you tried booting up with those?

no I don't.. is there anything else I can do?? I'm even willing to by a new os-x cd, but I just want to know if there are any cheaper ways before I take that route. any ideas?

I believe you should buy the system disks, wipe the drive, and reinstall Mac OS. You'll have a new, fresh start on the computer, and you need the disks anyway.

But the disks (not from ebay !) and wipe the drive and reinstall the OS...

You can either wait for Leopard to come out (10.5) or you'll probably get Tiger (10.5) reasonably cheap.
