iTunes abrupt fade outs & Equalizer

First question:
Ive noticed iTunes abruptly ends fade outs on various tracks. When I play the same file in WavePad the fade outs sound fine. In iTunes its like the last second is cut off or something. It's not a smooth fade out. I don't have cross-fade on in my preferences.

Second question:
What are the recommended settings for the equalizer when listening to orchestrations? Mine was set to flat (by default?) and obviously the music sounded very flat.

In the Options Tab in the Get Info window of any song you'll find "Start" & "Stop" times with boxes to enable these settings, make a backup of the song first before altering these times just in case ... there is also a "Classical" music equaliser pre-set there too.
