IPad crashes while using "Camera" app

My iPad often crashes when I use the Camera app. I have an iPad Air 2 and have the newest OS 15.7.1 installed. A few weeks ago my iPad would start crashing (turning off) when using the camera app. I can restart it and it will generally work for a while, then randomly crash. I notice that when it turns off, my battery has gone from nearly 100% down to 50% charged. When I look at the battery level graph it shows that it went from 100% to around 50% virtually instantaneously. I installed the newest OS and have gone to the Apple App Store to update my apps, but the problem has not been resolved. Has anyone else had this issue or have any ideas about what I can try next?

Hello,

Due to the age of the iPad, it sounds like there may be an issue with the battery, since the charge percentage drops that drastically.

For the camera issue:

• How much free space is left?
• Have you tried closing all open apps, then performing a force restart?
• Are you having any other app crashing issues?

The camera and battery issues may be related.
