SOLVED Installing Mac OS 10.13.6 over Mac OS 10.6.8 without re-registering with Apple?

install Mac OS 10.13.6 over Mac OS 10.6.8 without re-registering with Apple? This is on my wife's Macbook Pro. When I did the same on my iMac, I ended up with two accounts on my computer. Thanks

Hello,

If you install over the top of an existing OS X/macOS install, it should not create a new account, and keep the one(s) you currently have. The registration prompt should only be to register the Mac, which you can do multiple times without any issue.

Of course, it is always best to have a Time Machine or other backup of your Mac.
