iMac and UNmajic mouse

My new 27" iMac quad core is great, but is it normal for the mouse to be so slow to react upon start up? Upon start up my desktop, icons, folders and dock etc all appear along with the mouse, as should be. The mouse moves, but I cannot select anything or activate the dock for slightly over 8 minutes and 42 seconds. Is this normal for a bluetooth majic mouse? It's got me sort of upset as what this cost. Any and all thoughts/ help would be appreciated.

No it's not normal.

If its new go back to place you got it from as this is a warranty issue.
