imac 2 weeks old

imac is only 2 weeks old and am having trouble turning the screen on. returned to the place i bought it from and was told it was software and everything was working ok. was instructed how to reset smc and nvram which i have done and did not work. is this due to a faulty video card and overheating. thank you jim

I umm... I dont think overheating video cards is a problem in apple computers. Try booting off the Install CD that came with your computer (put the disc in, reboot, hold down C when you hear the chime and until you see the apple logo.

If that doesnt work, take it in to the apple store, anywhere. Even if you didn't buy it from apple you will get free service there. You may have to wait a while so eat before you go.
