With a Mac, in order to eject my Lacie external (150 gig) hard-drive, you have to drag the icon into the trash, something unexpected has just happened, the trash trashed it, rather than ejecting & completely wiped all 50 gigs of memory from the hard-drive. This is a disaster for me & I'm in the process of trying to recover the files. The fault may be with the hard-drive because my colleague tried it in his computer & the same thing happened when he tried to eject it, ie the "wheel of doom" appears & it looks like everything is being trashed (though the hard-drive now reads as empty).

I telephoned Lacie sales & explained what happened, they say it's not their problem now as the item was bought 4 months ago & their responsibility is for the 1st 3 months. Surely this can't be true, it cost me £109.00

Hope you can help
