ibook doesn't read firewire drive

First time posting here, forgive me if I don't give all info needed. I have an ibook G4 with a smartdisk firelite firewire drive. Just noticed today that I cannot access my firewire hard drive. It doesn't show up on my desktop and is nowhere to be found. Any help as to my next step would be great. Thanks - Aaron

Hello, does the name of your drive appear in the System Profiler under Disc Burning?

Also, what version of Mac OS do you have installed on your iBook? Have you previously been able to access your Firelite Drive? If you reboot, does the problem persist?
