Hello,
  • Is it an OEM HP toner cartridge?
  • Did you shake the cartridge and remove the plastic shipping strip per the instructions before installing it?
  • Did you check to see if there is any toner loose that may be blocking the sensor?
  • Have you tried powering off the printer, then back on?

Also reinserted the printer driver and reset the printer preferences to load new driver.

OK, thanks.

Sounds like you did everything correctly. It may just be an issue with the third-party cartridge. You may need to contact the vendor that made the cartridge or HP support.

HP support isn't going to support a third-party cartridge. They're not even very good at supporting their own equipment.
I'll just have to write it off and go back to a previous supplier whose cartridge did work. Thanks anyway.
